Investment Roadshow in Shandong and Beijing

Jul 16, 2026

An eight-day Investment Roadshow across China, featuring more than 20 meetings with leading Chinese companies and institutions, created new opportunities for investment in Serbia and reinforced the country's growing position as a manufacturing and logistics hub for the European market.

From June 20 to 28, 2026, a delegation from the Development Agency of Serbia (RAS), consisting of Predrag Deretić, Head of the Asia Team, and Nikola Vujović, Investment Project Manager, conducted an Investment Roadshow in Beijing and Shandong Province, visiting the cities of Liaocheng, Jinan, and Qingdao. The programme included high-level institutional meetings, participation in international conferences, and targeted business discussions with leading Chinese manufacturers, focusing on advancing existing investment projects and identifying new investment opportunities in Serbia.

In Beijing, during the China International Supply Chain Expo (CISCE 2026), the RAS delegation met with representatives of COSCO Shipping and Zhejiang Dahua Technology to discuss opportunities for logistics cooperation, the application of digital and AIoT solutions, and stronger business links with Chinese companies interested in expanding into the European market. At the same time, participation in the Belt and Road Economic and Trade Cooperation Conference further strengthened cooperation with CCPIT Shandong through the exchange of a Memorandum of Understanding and the promotion of Serbia as an attractive investment destination.

The delegation then visited Liaocheng, where special attention was given to GEB (Shandong Golden Empire), which is already implementing an investment project in Serbia. Meetings were also held with representatives of Xinfa Huayuan Aluminum and Gambol Pet Group, both globally active companies currently exploring opportunities to expand their manufacturing capacities.

In Jinan, the administrative centre of Shandong Province, the delegation met with the leadership of CCPIT Shandong, including He Zhongjun and Jeff Ma, to agree on concrete next steps for continued cooperation and the organisation of incoming business delegations from China to Serbia. During a series of business meetings, RAS representatives also engaged with companies from a range of industries, including Shuifa Energas (renewable energy), Jinxiang Jinhaoyuan Agricultural Trade and Jingxin Cooperative (agri-food production and food processing), Shandong Hotone Environmental Technology (water treatment and environmental solutions), as well as representatives of the international law firm Dentons/Dacheng.

The industrial programme included a visit to Sinotruk, a member of the Shandong Heavy Industry Group, where discussions focused on opportunities for vehicle manufacturing and assembly in Serbia. The delegation also visited Bodor CNC Machine, one of the world's leading manufacturers of laser processing equipment.

In Qingdao, the delegation continued discussions with CCS Electric Corporation, Kengic Intelligent Technology, and Gaoce Technology, companies operating in the fields of electrical equipment, smart logistics, industrial automation, and advanced materials. Meetings were also held with representatives of CCPIT Qingdao and stakeholders from the logistics sector, opening additional opportunities for the development of supply chains and the implementation of new industrial projects in Serbia.

The eight-day Investment Roadshow confirmed the strong interest of Chinese companies in investing in Serbia, particularly in the manufacturing, energy, logistics, and agribusiness sectors. Significant progress was achieved in advancing ongoing investment projects, discussions on new investment opportunities were initiated, and future visits by Chinese companies to Serbia were agreed upon. These activities further strengthened the network of business partnerships and institutional cooperation between Serbia and Shandong Province, creating a solid foundation for future investment projects.
