AIM 2020 INVESTMENT AWARD: RAS SCORED 2nd FOR TOYO TIRE CORPORATION PROJECT
The Development Agency of Serbia (RAS) received AIM 2020 Investment Award as second in the category of Runners-up from Central, Eastern Europe & Turkey for the Project TOYO TIRE CORPORATION.
At Annual Investment Meeting (AIM) - The World’s leading Investment platform, held from 20 until 22 October, RAS and Serbia was recognized as one of the best regarding investment promotion in the region CEE and Turkey.
The second place in the category of best IPA Agencies came for the Toyo Tire Corporation Project, an investment project worth at least 400 million euros, which will be implemented in the municipality of Inđija (Serbia).
AIM gathers high-ranking government officials, decision-makers, corporate leaders, policymakers, businessmen, regional and international investors, entrepreneurs, leading academics, and investment experts to address the global challenges of securing viable investment aimed at contributing to economic growth.
An important feature of the Annual Investment Meeting is AIM Investment Awards. This initiative was launched for the first time at AIM 2013 and has become a widely appreciated recognition of the best investment promotion agencies (IPAs) attracting the best investment project in a given year.
At the prestigious ceremony on 20th October 2020 at AIM Digital., selected IPAs were granted AIM Investment Awards. The 9 regions globally were awarded, as follows: Latin America & The Caribbean, Middle-East and North Africa, West and Central Africa, East Africa, Southern Africa, Central Asia, Caucasus & Russia, South, East Asia, and Oceania, Eastern Europe & Turkey, Europe.
As receiving the award, a representative of the Development Agency of Serbia, Acting Director Mr. Rados Gazdić, expressed gratitude for this recognition via a video message. He emphasized the importance of the fact that this recognition comes from the United Arab Emirates and its Ministry of Economy, the country that is a very important political and economic partner of Serbia.
Mr. Gazdić added that the groundbreaking for the Toyo Tire project in Serbia should be any day soon and that this project will be a state-of-art facility, implementing 100% IoT solutions and employing 500 people in Serbia.
„As a curiosity, this project of Tire Tire Corporation will be the only one within Europe as a production, and also it will include R&D functions“, said director RAS, and added that „In the age of technology and digitalization, Serbia will continue to strive for innovations with the aim to attract more technology advanced projects and build a strong, sustainable, and modern economy.“
AIM is the largest deal-making platform for the global investment community. It is an initiative of the UAE Ministry of Economy, held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE, and Ruler of Dubai. This year's edition was a digital meeting, with the theme “Reimagining Economies: The Move Towards a Digital, Sustainable and Resilient Future.”
