MAGNA SEATING EXPANDS ONCE AGAIN – 2ND PRODUCTION PLANT IN ALEKSINAC

Magna Seating inaugurates the new production plant in the municipality of Aleksinac, which is the second plant at this location. It is a 9 million euros worth investment aiming to employ around 1.000 workers.

After opening the brownfield production line in Aleksinac the year before, Canadian-based Magna Seating has constructed the new industrial plant of 8.000m2.

The official opening was attended by Magna’s officials and the President of the Republic of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić. The President emphasized how important is to have investors of this kind in the municipalities as Aleksinac and Odžaci where Magna is present and to create new job opportunities and contribute to further development.

Mr. Dieter Althaus, VP Governmental Affairs Magna Europe said that Serbia is an excellent location for business development and that it has become a central location in Europe for production and export for Magna. He pointed out that the main value of Serbia is the qualified workforce.

Magna is present in Serbia for 8 years now and Odžaci has a seat trim facility, producing for many automotive brands. Later, the project in Aleksinac included phase 1, brownfield production which initiated in spring 2020, and phase 2 which is officially opened today including the greenfield production plant.
