Cooperation on improving research and development infrastructure and the importance of public procurement of innovations

Novi Sad - December 12, 2018 - The second meeting of the National Expert Group (NEG) within the project Embeddedness of high quality research infrastructures in the Danube Region (RI2integrate) was held today in the Business Incubator Novi Sad.  

Main issue of the second meeting was analyze and producing of recommendations on two documents prepared by the project team in the previous period, which are related to the importance of public procurement of innovative products and services, as well as the state of public procurement of innovations in Serbia.

Conclusion and recommendation of the NEG Group is that the process of public procurement of innovations in Serbia must be given greater importance in the following period, and that the pilot experience that will be realized within the framework of the RI2integrate Project on this topic will be of great use in further improvement of the ecosystem for the development of innovative products and services in Serbia.

The National Expert Group (NEG) gathered representatives of the academic community, scientific and professional organizations and associations.

The RI2 Integration Project is part of the Transnational Danube Program, in which the Development Agency of Serbia is participating as a partner from Serbia.

17 partners from Hungary, Romania, the Czech Republic, Austria, Croatia, Slovenia, Slovakia and Serbia are implementing the Project, which will lasts until June 2019.

The main goal of the project is to explore the potential for economic development and improvement of integration of the functioning of EU investment projects for the development of research and development infrastructure, and through the implementation of innovative instruments for learning public policies on macro regional consolidation of this infrastructure in the Danube Region.
