BELGRADE – The Development Agency of Serbia (RAS) participated in the Serbia–China (Jiangsu) Economic and Trade Conference held on June 25, 2025, in the Crystal Hall of the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Belgrade. The conference was organized by the Department of Commerce of Jiangsu Province, with the support of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Serbia, the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China, and the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Serbia.

The event served as an important platform for strengthening bilateral relations and deepening economic cooperation between Serbia and Jiangsu Province, one of China's most developed regions in electronic equipment, green energy, and biotechnology. The Jiangsu delegation was led by Mr. Xin Changxing, Secretary of the Provincial Committee, and included over 240 Chinese business representatives.

As part of the conference, the Development Agency of Serbia delivered a presentation on the investment potential of the Republic of Serbia, highlighting the country's advantages as an attractive investment destination – a stable business environment, strategic geographic location, and a wide network of free trade agreements covering a market of 2.4 billion people.

The RAS delegation included Vladimir Tomić, Director of the Strategic Investment Sector; Predrag Deretić, Head of the Asia Team; and Milan Radović, Advisor for Infrastructure and Investments.

During the conference, RAS representatives held a series of meetings with Chinese companies that expressed specific interest in investing in Serbia.

Lianbo, a company from Jiangsu Province already operating in Novi Sad, plans to expand its production by building a new facility covering over 20,000 square meters. This initiative includes the employment of around 200 new workers. The company is also considering positioning Serbia as a regional hub for further distribution of its products to the European Union market.

Xingyu, which already has an established presence in Niš, announced further expansion of its capacities through the construction of an additional production facility and the creation of new jobs.

Its business partner, Yusei, also plans to implement the second phase of its operations in Serbia, including the construction of a new manufacturing facility and the creation of over 200 new jobs.

GCL, a company specializing in renewable energy projects, expressed interest in investing in solar energy projects in Serbia.

Josem Environmental Equipment, a company engaged in the production of industrial dehumidifiers, is currently focused on establishing trade cooperation with Serbian partners but has not ruled out the possibility of launching investment projects in the future.

Mr. Xin Changxing, Secretary of the Jiangsu Party Committee, stated that Serbia and China are building a “steel friendship” and expressed readiness for Jiangsu to serve as a bridge between Serbia and the Asian market, with a particular focus on increasing imports of Serbian products such as honey, wine, and meat.

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy of Serbia, Adrijana Mesarovic, emphasized the importance of relations with China, particularly with Jiangsu, noting that these ties go beyond economic frameworks and are based on mutual respect, trust, and a shared vision of sustainable development. Mesarović also announced the opening of the first "Serbian House" in the Chinese city of Xiamen, as well as plans to establish a "Jiangsu House" in Serbia.

The participation of the Development Agency of Serbia in this event further strengthened Serbia–China economic relations and opened concrete opportunities for new Chinese investments, particularly in industrial manufacturing, energy, infrastructure, and innovation sectors.
